Residential Stucco Installation in Colorado Springs

Your home’s exterior takes a beating in Colorado. Between the hailstorms, intense UV exposure, and dramatic temperature swings, traditional siding can feel like a constant maintenance headache. Stucco is a smarter long-term investment. It doesn’t chip or peel, holds up to impact and moisture, and gives your home a clean, modern look that stands out in any neighborhood.

Whether you’re replacing outdated siding, refreshing a tired exterior, or building new construction, Greg Unseth Painting & Exteriors has the experience to handle your residential stucco installation from start to finish. We take care of all permitting and inspections through the El Paso County Regional Building Department so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Commercial Stucco Installation in Colorado Springs

Why Choose Stucco for Your Colorado Springs Property?

Stucco has been a popular choice for Colorado Springs properties for good reason. Here’s why so many homeowners and business owners across the Front Range are making the switch:

Stucco is naturally fire resistant and cement-based, which means it creates a seamless, water-resistant barrier around your property. It doesn’t warp, rot, or get damaged by insects the way wood siding can. It’s also incredibly durable against hail, which is a very real concern for anyone who has lived on the Front Range for more than one storm season. And from a curb appeal standpoint, stucco offers a wide range of color and texture options to match your vision.

Our Stucco Installation Process

We’ve refined our stucco installation process over four decades of work on Front Range properties. Every project follows a proven system designed to deliver a flawless finish that holds up over time. Here’s what you can expect:

We start by removing all windows, doors, and body trim from the surfaces to be stuccoed. Double 60-minute moisture-barrier paper and 17-gauge lathe are then applied to all surfaces, along with a self-adhesive urethane sealer around all doors and windows. Weep screed is installed at the bottom of the structure for proper moisture drainage, and additional metal flashing is added as needed.

Two-inch by six-inch pop-outs are framed around all window and door openings before we call for the first inspection with the Regional Building Department. Once approved, a fiberglass-infused scratch coat is applied followed by a fiberglass mesh to minimize future cracking. The brown coat is then applied over the mesh.

During the three-to-five-day cure phase, our painting crews handle all non-stucco surfaces including trim, doors, and gutters. For the finish coat, we use Total Wall Elastomeric Stucco by Sherwin Williams, the most advanced moisture control and crack-resistant stucco finish available. It’s available in a variety of colors and textures and is the product we stand behind with our Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Once the project is complete, all scaffolding is removed, the property is fully cleaned, and a final inspection is completed by the Regional Building Department.
