There are many reasons why we stand out from the competition. We are a family owned and operated, local business whom has served the residents of Colorado since 1981. Our over 16,000 customers will tell you that not only do we provide a top quality product at a fair price, but that our company mission to treat every customers home like it is our own is not just an empty promise.
Greg has always believed that a happy employee will create happy customers. This creed has been a cornerstone to our success. Not only do we treat our staff with the best financial rewards, but we constantly strive to create a family atmosphere with all of our employees. This creates a scenario that allows us to recruit the best in the business, and keep them long term! Every employee, from our labor force to top management, are competent and caring, and this allows us to back all of our products and services with the best warranties in the business.
We offer several warranties depending on the service and paint or stain you choose.
For exterior painting, our paint warranties include:
Bronze -- 3 Year Labor Warranty: Sherwin-Williams A-100 Exterior Acrylic Latex
Silver -- 5 Year Labor Warranty: Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint Exterior Acrylic Latex
Gold -- 7 Year Labor Warranty: Sherwin-Williams Latitude Exterior Acrylic Latex
Platinum -- 12 Year Labor Warranty: Sherwin-Williams Emerald Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint
For customers with real wood siding, we offer a 3 Year Labor and Material Warranty on solid stain (Sherwin-Williams Woodscapes or Super Stain Solid Stain), covering uneven fade, chipping, peeling, and cracking. A few surfaces may be excluded from warranty coverage, including decking, wood window frames, raised wood panel garage doors, and horizontal surfaces that require extra maintenance. Greg Unseth Painting & Exteriors will transfer and honor the remainder of any labor warranty with the sale of your home, however all Sherwin-Williams paint warranties are non-transferable.
Every window and patio door we install includes a factory-backed Limited Lifetime Warranty covering glass breakage. If anything happens to one of your windows while you own the home, it will be either repaired or replaced (excluding screen material).
Our stucco services are backed with a Limited Lifetime Labor and Material Warranty, covering chipping, staining, uneven fading, and cracking wider than 1/8".
Your sales representative will walk you through all of this at your free estimate and provide you with a full copy of your warranty.
We do not write warranties on interior painting, as some homeowners are just too hard on their walls and trim. However, we do guarantee coverage with the best products available at the time of the project which will give the typical homeowner years of enjoyment before needing a new coating.
Preparation is the most important part of the painting process. We will power wash if needed, scrape all peeling paint, prime coat all exposed wood and siding surfaces, and fill all holes, joints, and seams on the siding, trim, doors, and windows with a top quality caulking. We mask and cover all windows, fixtures, flatwork, and landscaping prior to applying the topcoat to insure a clean finished product, and remove all paint chips and trash upon completion of the job.
Yes, we carry full Liability and Workman’s Compensation insurance. If an accident occurs on your project, either to our workers or your home, we are covered.
Absolutely. Our paints are cold temp rated to 35 degrees, allowing us to paint on many winter days. And as an incentive, we usually will run deeper discounts during the winter months!
We do offer services in Denver and Douglas County. Our Northern Colorado operations are offered via our sister company, Denver Stucco & Stone. You can find more information at: www.denverstuccoandstone.com.
Finish strategy will be determined on a per job basis. Most homes will be a cross-spray application for larger body areas and brush/roll application for trim, interior, and smaller areas. No matter what application is chosen, we assure a thick, even topcoat with the best products available.
When we decided to start offering stucco over siding, we knew that we would only offer the very best solution available. The best system is a hard-coat stucco system. However, even with the hard-coat solutions, there are steps and levels of product upgrades that can take a standard stucco job and make it a stellar one!
There are a few areas of differentiation between what we include as standard in our system, that would be considered upgrades with other competitors. They are:
Lath Stage: 1) In the lath stage, we use Double 60 weather-barrier, which is 3 times thicker than code requires; 2) We use a 17 gauge wire system that is heavier than most offer (stucco is heavy and it is the wire that holds it to the home); 3) We always secure the wire to the studs of the home with longer-than-standard, 2″ staples; 4) Pop-outs, or bump-outs, are always added around door and window openings as standard.
Base Coat: 1) We use only the best base coat material, which is infused with fiberglass strands to create a stronger surface and reduce cracking; 2) Between the scratch and brown coats, we add a fiberglass mesh overlay for additional crack protection (this is a very important step and one that should be included in every stucco job, as this will prevent future cracking by another 80%).
Color Coat: 1) We always use the very best finish coat, which is Elastomeric stucco. As opposed to the standard Portland Cement color coat, the elastomeric coatings will bridge hairline cracks at a much greater rate, are colorfast and fade resistant, will not stain nearly as easily, and most importantly are flexible (elongation of 180%) to prevent as much surface cracking as possible when movement of the structure occurs.
Painting the Trim & Doors: Most stucco contractors do not, and will not, paint the areas that are not being stuccoed. We always include this in our system. After all, why would our customers want a beautiful new stucco home with less than beautiful trim? Plus, no need to go out and find another contractor to finish the job!
This is a source of great pride for our company. We have always realized that our company is only as good as our people. Experience and professionalism is a must when we hire, however we always look for deeper qualities such as pride of work and individuals whom buy into our concept of being the best home improvement company we can be.
We use only 100% acrylic paints for several reasons. Acrylic latex is flexible so it will move and breathe with the constant contraction and expansion of your homes surfaces due to temperature changes. Also, acrylics are the most fade resistant coverings available, which is very important with Colorado’s intense UV exposure.
No money down on painting, gutters, tile, and repair projects. Terms of 50% down/ 50% upon completion on replacement windows and doors, fencing, decks, and garage doors. For stucco, 1/3 down, 1/3 after lath inspection, and 1/3 upon completion. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. We also offer bank financing via Ent Federal Credit Union with approved credit.
We serve Colorado Springs, Fountain, Security/Widefield, Pueblo, and Teller County.
As an Alside top retailer in the Southern Colorado market, we have chosen to offer this exclusive, top quality replacement window. Alside windows are available in hung, slider, awning, casement and many other formats.
